My name is Nigel, I was created, as were many of my kind; in China, but that is just the start. From there i have been boxed, packaged and transported across the globe to eventually find myself being purchased and hand delivered to my new owner and Forever Home.
My Adventures began around Easter time 2013 with being presented to my new owner. There i was, sat atop a small pile of chocolates in an Easter themed box just waiting to be loved. Luckily for me, my owner was due to embark on a short adventure of her own. A canal boat holiday with her folks! So it was with out hesitation that she found me a spot in her suitcase and took me along for the trip.
By the time we had arrived at my Nanna's house, I not only had my own profile, but an entirely separate page dedicated to documenting my ‘Curious Adventures’...not to mention my very own email address! Not bad for fluffy black stuffed sheep huh?!
After rolling her eyes and laughing at my owner, my mum's sister soon jumped on board with the novelty and kidnapped me for a photo shoot, capturing me as i met the various other members of the stuffed toy world that could be found around the house, not to mentions pictures of me in the shower, climbing stairs and in a plant pot shaped like dungarees!
It was at this point that my mum decided that she wanted the whole family to know who I was. She was banking on them most of them humoring her and accepting my friend request out of politeness more than anything else. My 'likes' began to grow.
Throughout my first adventure, trying to managing my pages was far from organised. With little to no internet signal on the canal there wasn't much my mum could do but upload the odd picture here and there and take as many pictures as she could to upload later when we returned home.
Whist waiting for our coach (which was very late) my new mum started to get creative, taking pictures of me on my luggage and at the coach stop with the intentions of perhaps making me the focus of this holiday album. Her ideas quickly snowballed and she began brainstorming ideas with her partner about all the adventures i could have and all of the interesting characters i could meet along the way.
Our coach eventually arrived and, with a whole coach trip to ponder, my mum began to get a little bit carried away with her ideas for me. It wasn't long before she was eagerly organizing for her partner to make me my very own Facebook page, not just an album full of holiday snaps buried within her own page.
I would travel the world, I would go everywhere that she would go and it would all be documented along the way. :)
It was after a long and rather rubbish day at work that my Mum's plans for Nigel’s Curious Adventures got even bigger. Her partner suggested a drive somewhere to help her feel better after work, so she promptly picked me up along with a comfy blanket and off we went…and ended up in Salisbury at Stonehenge at midnight...That was one random picture she hoped might get some likes so up it went.
But she didn't just want one-time-visitors to my page. she wanted people to come back. She thought perhaps trying to make the page more interactive would help achieve that and suggested to her partner that we let my fans decide where i should go.
This was how we ended up at Longleat safari park snapping away at everything and anything that looked remotely interesting and keeping an eye for funny or adventurous looking camera shots for me.
Uploading pictures is all well and good though, anyone can look through pictures on the internet at places of interest; she needed to make it more interesting, so she set about making sure I had something either fun or interesting or even just plain funny written for every picture she uploaded.
Mum's plans for me are BIG! She hopes i will travel the world.
And so...Though the Easter chocolate i was packaged along side maybe long gone, i am sure that my adventures are only just beginning...
